The purple frontage at 84 Walworth Road has been feeding the neighbourhood for years. Chatkhara does Pakistani and Afghani food with a focus on the tandoor: chicken tikka, chapli kebab, sheek kebab, naan pulled straight from the oven.

The lunch deal is the draw. Curry, rice, and fresh naan for under four pounds. You can order far more food than two people can finish and still come in under fifteen quid. The lamb karahi and the tandoori wings are both solid.

Part of a small chain with branches in Tooting and Clapham South. The Walworth Road one stays open until midnight, seven days a week. Eat in or take away.
