Getting Here
Elephant & Castle is one of the best-connected spots in south London. Two tube lines, a national rail station, and more bus routes than almost anywhere else in the city.
By Tube
Elephant & Castle station sits on both the Northern line and the Bakerloo line. That puts you four minutes from Waterloo, seven from Charing Cross, and ten from Oxford Circus. Change at Waterloo for the Jubilee line, or at Embankment for the District and Circle.
By Train
The overground station is on the Thameslink network. Trains run through Blackfriars, Farringdon, and St Pancras, useful if you are heading to King’s Cross or out to Luton Airport.
By Bus
Elephant & Castle is served by around 29 bus routes, day and night. Direct buses run north to Farringdon, south to Peckham and Brixton, east to Canary Wharf, and west to Notting Hill. The bus station sits right outside the tube entrance.
By Bike
Several Santander Cycles docking stations are dotted around the area, including one on Harper Road near London College of Communication. A single ride costs around £1.65 for thirty minutes. There are also protected cycleways connecting to central London.
On Foot
Walkable to Borough Market (fifteen minutes), Kennington Park (ten minutes), and the South Bank (twenty minutes along the river).
